Film Review: A Good Old Fashioned Orgy

I must admit going into to this film I wasn’t expecting much. It had disappointment written all over it. With a placid storyline depicting a group of friends trying to have one final blow out party and a cast with no demanding comic in sight – I wasn’t prepared to hold my breath.

But pleasantly surprised I was as A Good Old Fashioned Orgy served up decent laughs throughout, with moments of sheer side splitting humour. What the simple storyline allows is for you to attach yourself to the characters and therefore feel any awkward or comedic moment with them. The premise of a group orgy opens the door to these moments the whole way through.

…worth a watch for when you are in need of a few easy laughs.

No one character stole the show, but each provided their entertainment. With everyone filling a niche; from the self-conscious girl, to the outspoken and brash man; the film is able to float from joke to joke, without ever burdening itself on one character.

Probably a film where you can wait for the DVD, but definitely worth a watch for when you are in need of a few easy laughs.
