If Paris can boast its rivière gauche with the intellectual Latin Quartier, London can certainly charm everyone with the conviviality of the South Bank. Music, poetry and theatre, a night at the South Bank made me wonder that Muses have left their Mt. Helicon to dwell in London.

It was all because of Chopin, or more precisely, because of Evgeny Kissin playing Chopin. For many, this Russian pianist is the world famous child prodigy who infuses Chopin’s music with elegance and grandeur; for me, he is a great mystery with his personal mien and characteristic puffy hair.
