Dazed & Confused, in their 19th year, is preparing to host a big old party in oh-so trendy Shoreditch.
In line with Dazed’s widespread and open-minded approach to most things, this is no run-of-the-mill music fest. They’ve created exhibition spaces for upcoming artists such as Kathy Grayson who, along with her acclaimed “postermat”, is coming over from New York. Conceptual designers Hudson-Powell, co-directors of PJ Harvey‘s video for Shame will also be in attendance.
“expect a night of inspiration, rebellion and dancing, closed minds, clear the area!”
Talks come from, among others, 81-year-old iconic yet mysterious hero of all things counter-culture, Alejandro Jodorowsky (the prolific film-maker and author) as well as co-founder of the Panic Movement. Did I mention his experience in the somewhat debated arts of Tarot and Shamanism? It should be a good’un then.
Music comes from Brooklyn’s finest noise-makers Gang Gang Dance – expect something Avant-pop from NYC’s cult trio. SBTRKT lines up alongside, with the two-step and driven helpings of bass that has caused rumblings through London’s underground scene recently. Darkstar come with their reputation for big live shows readily awaited.
In Dazed’s own words, “expect a night of inspiration, rebellion and dancing, closed minds, clear the area!”
Events will occur on 9th April 2011
