The twinkling theme tune can be heard again…Wizards, Muggles…come out. On 15 July Harry Potter will be released…but for one last time.  Yes, the familiar theme tune of Harry Potter is being replaced by the drums of war.  David Yates, director of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will direct the finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.  In part one he laid down the foundation for the battle of Hogwarts; Lord Voldemort has obtained the “Elder Wand”. Screenwriter Steve Kloves, except for the fifth instalment of the series, has crafted all of J.K. Rowling’s books into screenplays. The Wizards are back…

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One saw Harry, Ron and Hermione search for the Horcruxes and the secret to Voldermort’s immortality. In Part 2, the battle continues and concludes with the ultimate showdown between Harry and Voldemort. David Yates promises Part 2 will deliver a fan’s treat and he describes the whole film as a ‘“big opera with huge battles”’ and one that remains faithful to the books. For those who haven’t read the book, I won’t give any spoilers away.  One more promise comes from Daniel Radcliffe as he says that this one is even more action-packed than the previous.

…this one is even more action-packed than the previous.

The Harry Potter film series has made over £350 million and has been nominated for 28 Baftas. Both concluding parts were shot back to back and it has taken from 19th February 2009 to 21st December 2010 to finish the films. I for one cannot wait for 15th July to see what’s in store…
