Vision Sound Music is the UK’s first festival of its kind, celebrating the meeting point between music, video games, film and adverts. Running for 3 days (2nd – 4th of September) at the Southbank Centre, London, VSM is set to be one of most innovative and diverse creative events of the year.
During the day, VSM is focused on giving professionals and aspiring creative’s, seminars, talks and showcases. Witness the likes of SoundCloud and Sony Playstation and video director Jake Nava (who has worked with Beyonce, Kelis and Robbie Williams) showcase their creative visual process.

Taking place in the evening is VSM nights, hosting special performances and gigs. Friday evening of the festival kick starts with an exclusive set by musician and DJ Charlie Dark, remixing a world-premier soundtrack to Marcel Camus’ Oscar winning film Black Orpheus. The night is complete with an after party led by BBC radio1 DJ Gilles Peterson.
Festival director Andrew Missingham, who has led events for the BBC, Futurecity and who programmed The Big Chill in Cairo – their first overseas festival, created VSM with the belief that it is about time music’s role in visual culture is celebrated: “Here at Vision Sound Music, we’re creating lots of stuff to whet your appetite and highlight the most exciting music and visual collaborations.”

The festival also plays host to an event catering to families. The closing day is a great way for parents and kids to enjoy their last day before school; a day full of interactive, creative, hands-on fun, exploring video games, music and film.
As part of the festival there is also a great opportunity for budding filmmakers, VSM in association with Pulse Films is launching a “New Talent Search”. The best entries will receive professional feedback and the winner of the competition will secure representation with Pulse Films.
