On 7th May, at 20:00 (to be confirmed), an event is going to take place that will change the way general knowledge quizzes are looked at forever. It is the official date and time for Year Of The Mads UK-wide quiz night, namely That’s Just RAFT. This is an event that if it succeeds, should be one pub quiz to beat all others you have ever been to.

The idea is simple, to break the current world record for the “Largest Quiz [across Multiple] locations”. The title is currently held in Ireland by 1,234 people who achieved it in 2007. Year Of The Mad are determined not only to break this record, but to have a brilliant time doing so!

There are prizes to a value of £205…

There are prizes to a value of £205, consisting of a Kwik-Fit full service voucher and a paintballing voucher for 10 people, but there are more prizes coming in every day. This is one quiz that is most definitely worth entering – for the prizes if nothing else.

The event is to support a charity named RAFT: a charity based in north London dedicated to research into skin wounds and illnesses such as skin cancer. They receive no government funding and rely entirely on fundraising done by kind people.

The entry fee is £1 per person in teams of a maximum of 5, which can be paid directly to the charity via JustGiving if you are paying for more than 2 people at once, or via PayPal if you are paying individually.

So, if you’re still reading then here’s how to enter. Visit http://thatsjustraft.net and give the page a thorough read through so you know the rules. If you are a venue and can volunteer your services for the night so you can run a “proxy” quiz night click the link saying so, or if you just want to take part (and you can do from home), press the link saying “You probably want this link”. The team will then be in touch with you with all the info you need to prepare, agree to the rules, and hopefully win the quiz.
