Wikipedia is a big deal. From its inception in 2001 it has become one of, if not the biggest, source of free knowledge on the internet. With over 19.9 million articles and with content being uploaded by its users it has become a very powerful tool.

Wikipedia has information on everything, but some details need to be expanded on and this led enthusiasts to create their own wiki pages about their favourite subjects. If you are a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer then head over to the Wiki devoted completely to it. Want to know who that muggle wizard was who died in the Battle of Hogwarts? Check out the Harry Potter Wiki. If it’s important to someone there is most likely a Wiki page created for it.

It contains almost 86,000 articles…

The beauty I suppose about the Wiki craze is that you see the passion the fans or enthusiasts have for the site. The Star Wars wiki, wonderfully named “Wookiepedia”, contains incredibly detailed information on the films, games, books, TV series and expanded universe. It contains almost 86,000 articles, making it the fifth-largest Wikia-hosted wiki in terms of article count, ahead of sites such as Memory Alpha (Star Trek Wikia) and the Marvel Comics Database (Marvel Comics).

So go ahead and take a gander at what’s on offer! You won’t be disappointed.
