With the Olympics upon us and big projects emerging all over London were we surprised when a massive music event took place in Hackney? No not at all, in fact we welcomed it.
With a stunning 100,000 free tickets handed out (a majority to Hackney residents) and a killer line-up that included Leona Lewis, Rizzle Kicks, Ed Sheeran, Will.i.am, Jack White, Jay-Z, Rhianna, MIA, Kanye West, Professor Green, Plan B, Ill Manors, Jessie J, Azealia Banks, Lana Del Rey, Florence & the Machine, Dizzee Rascal, Nas and David Guetta.
…some of the best of British and US musicians…
As far as talent goes the 48 hours brought some of the best of British and US musicians to a massive audience, not only the music lovers there, but the event was shown live on the BBC and can still be viewed if you haven’t seen it.
So lock the door, close the curtains, unhook the phone, sit down, pour yourself a beverage of your choice and see what everyone is raving about. I promise you won’t be disappointed and if you’re not a music lover then stick around for the visual effects.
