For those of you who are fed up with the perpetual greyness that is British wintertime – good news! We at MouthLondon have sought out some of the sunniest SS13 trends to add a splash of colour to these dull days.

The Coffin on Cake SS13 showcase boasted an array of fabulous fashion, from Hawaiian shirts to some very dapper Hush Puppies.

Neon was a key theme throughout, from bikinis, to Wellies, to jelly shoes. Juju displayed some rather snazzy highlighter-esque Wellington boots, which were top-to-toe neon from the soles up. (For those more conservative readers out there, fear not – the boots also come in lavender and mint green).

…spiky neon buckle straps…

Hunter’s updated version of their classic Wellington boot was equally exciting, with matte green being swapped for shiny black, and the addition of – wait for it – spiky neon buckle straps… Perfect for a fresh take on festival chic!

O’neil and Billabong were also setting the trail with neon torches. From thin neon stripes interspersed by grey lines, to chunky segments of full-blown neon, their bikinis were eye-catching to say the least.

…demure samples…

Hush Puppies went for a more neutral approach, using pastel coloured suede to add a touch of pizazz to their classic brogues. Add in a platform sole and you have yourself one heck of a statement shoe. More demure samples were also available, such as the brown, white and powder blue suede loafers, and in the way of men’s shoes, we spotted a great pair of mint green brogues with added details such as neon eyelets and a thin orange stripe around the sole.

The menswear collections were very strong. Our favourites included the Analog matching shorts and shirt outfit, with the stonewashed colours counterbalancing the all-over jungle print. Denim Demon’s shirts were also outstanding; we particularly liked their take on the camouflage shirt, which featured a print disused by the Swedish army instead of the standard, slightly-overdone camo-print that everyone seems to be wearing nowadays. With added details such as a top button made of reindeer antlers, the Denim Demon shirts stood out as just that extra bit special.

…our full-on approval…

Finally, we couldn’t leave you without a lowdown on the hottest baseball caps. Vans received our full-on approval for their multi-coloured geometric caps, while Fallen opted for bold colour blocking in bright blue and purple, navy and red. Summer swag = in the bag.
