With no wins in 14 games, bottom of the table Queens Park Rangers need something special to prevent demotion back to the Championship.
Who is better to inspire a comeback and help the club stay in the top flight than national hero David Beckham. The 37 year old footballing legend would definitely bring spark to a very poor QPR side, he is still undoubtedly one of the best passers in the game, and this could be what QPR need to salvage a few points in the coming months.
The free kick specialist would also be good for club morale, knowing you have a former England captain with over 100 international caps crossing the ball into you has to have some sort of positive impact on how your team plays? Not only how your team plays but how oppositions play against this England legend.
…his pace is slowing…
Although Beckham is a master of passing and dead ball situations, at the age of 37 his pace is slowing. It is possible he would struggle to keep up with the pace of play in the Premier League. Beckham’s wages are also very high, although football only adds partially to his 3 million dollar salary, QPR may have trouble finding the funds for the big star.
I think that Beckham himself wouldn’t want to join a club who are threatened by demotion. After playing for big clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid and AC Milan, moving to QPR would be a big drop from his high standards and so a pointless move for him. Although QPR would love to sign such a big star, the realist view is that this move would be an odd one, Beckham is used to huge clubs with lots of publicity, and QPR is not a great club for this.
