Manchester United enjoyed yet another victory at the weekend against Chelsea to continue their 100% record in the Premier League.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s new crop of inspiring youngsters go two points clear of rivals Manchester City at the top, after a dramatic 3-1 victory over Andre Villas Boas’s side.

Not their finest performance of the season, but the plaudits go to the Reds’ inspiring youngsters who continue to make the Premier League feel more and more like home. This combined with the world class attributes of Wayne Rooney who scored his ninth of the season on Sunday and Nani, who is finally looking like the finished article.

…and he is still only 19…

At the back, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and David de Gea continue to grow into the United shirt. Jones has England and United captain written all over him. His technique, calmness and no-nonsense defending must have Rio Ferdinand and John Terry looking over their shoulder, and he is still only 19.

Comparisons are being drawn against Chelsea’s start to last season, goals in abundance and no one getting anywhere near them, only for the Blues’ form to drastically dip when they needed it. However this is a team under Ferguson, a squad with much more depth and vaster experience. The first thing Sir Alex will not let them do is get carried away.

The scariest aspect of all this, is behind the youngsters on the pitch on Saturday is another set of youngsters waiting to take over should they slip up, as well the old heads, who have done it all before.

the young reds did not impress against Basle. Perhaps Utd would like to help their neighbours out and take Tevez back or was this a long term plan of Fergies sell them Tevez!
