When was the last time that you stepped out of your comfort zone?

Recently I have been working on a personal film project, which has meant that I have met so many new and wonderful people. This isn’t a problem, but I feel that I am completely out of my comfort zone. Part of me is feeling entirely liberated by this new adventure, whereas the worrier inside of me is balling his eyes out in the corner of the room.

However, after a manic week I have decided that it’s not only wonderful for my career and social life, but also wonderful on a psychological level.

…The cycle then starts again…

Everyone has a set routine. You get up, have breakfast, shower, eat and go t work. Afterwards you may go out for a drink with friends or you head home to have dinner. Breaking Bad is on so you watch that, and then you go to bed. The cycle then starts again.

It’s good to have a routine, but I am wondering if in the long term it’s not damaging.

…What’s the worst that could happen?

Since coming out of my comfort zone I have felt a lot better psychologically and physically. I think it’s good to push yourself and not worry about the consequences. As I told a good friend recently “you only live once” so if you see an opportunity then goes for it. What’s the worst that could happen?

Heineken are running an awesome campaign that “drops” men in an environment they are unfamiliar with and they must survive there. It’s a really wonderful idea because it not only pushes men to prove they can survive, but what could you achieve being thrown completely out of your comfort zone.
