Out of all of the things my father gave me, my hairy chest is by far the most majestic. My dad got the brunt of the hair (he looks like a gorilla with his top off), but I got it on my chest and face. I started shaving when I was 11, and can grow a nice load of stubble in a day if I put my mind to it. I don’t complain as this means that I have had a very long time to perfect my grooming in regard to my hipster mini beard, but my friends either pull off a very distinguished look or end up looking like a half assed hobo.

So I got my hands on a Wilkinson Sword Hydro 5 Groomer to test out whether it could stand up to my manliness, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it did very well.

So with a lot of trimmers I find there isn’t much diversity in what you can do with them (unless you are a trained hairdresser), however the Hydro 5 made it very simple to achieve the right length and style, as well as being easy to remove to clean. It had a flip trimmer which means that you can reach tough areas and It was very smooth on my skin. This is thanks to the built in ultraglide blades and specialised gel reservoir that lasts two times as long as other trimmers.

Although the hipster is supposedly dying out (I don’t believe a word of it) I will be happy to maintain my stubble and get my mates to have a go. One of them does crazy designs in his beard, like sticking flowers in it (this is a real trend and it’s amazing) , so I will be interested to see what he can come up with.

So if you have the chance grab a groomer and have a play. If it works for a hairy ape like me then you normal hairless guys will be fine.
